Your Blog, Protected by the Cloudflare Network

Every blog runs behind Cloudflare's global network: your origin server's IP address stays hidden, attacks are absorbed at the edge before they ever reach you, and visitors are served from the datacenter nearest to them.

How it works

Hidden, hardened, and fast

1

The proxy goes up at birth

When your blog is provisioned, its DNS records are proxied through Cloudflare before the first post publishes. Visitors only ever see Cloudflare addresses; your real server never touches the public internet directly.

2

Attacks die at the edge

Volumetric attacks, bots, and scrapers hit Cloudflare's network, which absorbs terabits of abuse across its fleet daily. Your blog keeps serving content like nothing is happening.

3

Real visitors get the fast lane

Legitimate readers connect to the nearest edge location in over 330 cities. Static assets are cached at the edge and served from milliseconds away, on top of the Core Web Vitals work already baked into every theme.

The protection stack

Infrastructure big sites pay for, on every blog

Your server, invisible

Attackers can't hit what they can't find. With the origin IP removed from public DNS, direct attacks on your blog's server become effectively impossible.

DDoS mitigation, unlimited

Cloudflare's network mitigates attacks of any size without surcharging or shutting you down. A flood of traffic is a Tuesday, not an incident.

TLS on every connection

Encryption from the visitor to the edge and from the edge to the origin. Certificates are issued and renewed automatically.

Edge caching for Core Web Vitals

Images, styles, and static pages are cached in the city your reader is in. Faster time to first byte compounds with the themes' performance work for strong CWV scores.

Zero configuration

No Cloudflare account to create, no records to flip, no certificates to babysit. The platform manages the entire integration as part of provisioning.

What it means for your business

Security that quietly wins rankings

Uptime and speed are ranking factors. A blog that can't be knocked down and loads from a nearby edge keeps collecting them every single day.

Availability is SEO

Google demotes unreliable hosts. Edge protection keeps your blog reachable through attacks and traffic spikes that would flatten an unprotected server.

Faster everywhere at once

A reader in Amsterdam and a reader in Toronto both get a local connection. Lower latency worldwide, better Core Web Vitals, better rankings.

Included, not upsold

Enterprise-grade protection is part of the platform on every plan. No security add-on invoices, no separate vendor accounts.

Questions

Everything people ask

What does hiding the origin IP actually do?
Most attacks start by finding the real server behind a domain. With DNS pointing only at Cloudflare addresses, there is no public path to your server, so direct attacks and port scanning against your blog simply have no target.
Does the proxy slow my blog down?
The opposite. Visitors connect to the nearest Cloudflare edge in over 330 cities, and static content is cached there. Combined with the performance work in our themes, pages typically get faster behind the proxy.
Do I need a Cloudflare account?
No. The platform provisions and manages the entire Cloudflare integration for your blog: DNS, proxy, and certificates. It is part of hosting, which is included in every plan.
What about DDoS attacks?
Cloudflare absorbs malicious traffic across its global network before it can reach your blog. Mitigation is unlimited and automatic; there is nothing for you to monitor or respond to.
